The latest list of Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) on 9 March 2018 (reference 2018/C 092/01). These Harmonised standards provide a presumption of conformity with the essential health and safety requirements (EHSRs) of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (see below for definitions of Harmonised Standard and Machinery Directive ). It is not obligatory to comply with Harmonised Standards, but doing so provides a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements of the relevant directive. Machinery Directive definition The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is the European legislative act that provides the regulatory basis for the harmonisation of the essential health and safety requirements for machinery at European Union level. Machinery Directive & Harmonised Standards Ed. 8.0 March 2021 Directive 2006/42/EC (*) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC (recast) with last communication references of harmonized standards (**) which have been generated by the HAS (Harmonised Standards) database. Directive 2006/42/EC is a revised version of the Machinery Table of Standards Harmonised to the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive.

This is the list of standards that may be used by machinery manufacturers to prove that their machinery complies with the essential requirements of this directive.
